Good compilation of typical mistakes; common among newbies. A few advices below:
1. Learn to kite well. You shall be able to correct the canopy not only with brakes but also with positioning yourself below the canopy properly. Only needs practice.
2. Better try three times than break something. Decision making, namely in «am I ready to go full throttle (actual takeoff start)» and «shall I abort the attempt» cases are important to be good ones.
3. As a newbie, never practice in wind stronger than 5 m/s. As for myself, I do not even consider flying in stronger winds… it is boring. Perhaps easier to take off, but with beginner wings you will not or almost not penetrate against upwind making it painful to go back where you left your car…
4. Using OLD, non-newbie wings for practice makes life harder. If you manage them however it will be a dream to go with a new one once you buy it :)
5. Even if your canopy is stable you still have to reach the takeoff speed which is around 25 km/h (minus wind speed). If there is no wind, it is 25 km/h running… if you sit in earlier you will land unplanned. So unless you are perfect in jusdging your run speed, I would run run run until my legs do not reach the land no more… Also… running 2 kilometers with 20 km/h will not help (unless you are aiming for heavy cardio training). You actually has to accelerate until you are lifted…
6. Lean BACK when running. You want your prop to generate as forward thrust as possible, and NOT pushing you towards the ground you are trying to leave. Do not be afraid, you will NOT fall backwards, if you do, that engine is too weak anyway, it is garbage, deserves to be crashed.
7. My rule of thumb: your canopy lifts you, NOT your engine. Your engine helps you to run faster, and allows to continue running when your legs do not reach the land anymore…
8. Learn what flaring is about. Flaring has two important factors: speed reduction and descent rate reduction.
If you do not flare at all, you have to run approximately 38 km/h (nil wind) and dampen 5-6 km/h fall (WHILE running). This is close to gold medal performance. SO, we flare. You pull the brakes, this reduces speed at the canpoy which will make it to left behind you a bit, which will lift you a bit. Too bad that it must be timed correctly. Also, flaring requires IMPULSE in the wing. This impluse you will use to lift you in the last second. Therefore… if you slow the wing upon descent, you reduce the impulse, which reduces lift power, which ends you on your butt or faceplanted. Approach ground with NIL brakes, once your legs are a 50 cm away (as you get better this can be decreased to 5 cm) from the ground, flare, which is ONE decisive long pull of the brakes. Trust your wing and it WILL slow down WILL lift you in that last second.
9. If there is no wind upon landing, prepare to run. This is because stall speed of most canopies is around 20-25 km/h, so it simply cannot slow you down to nil speed. Also be careful sometimes after long sittings legs can go numb, so flex thema bit beforehand.
10. Too much flare in strong wind will result backward flying (you slow down to 25 km/h in a 30 km/h upwind is -5 km/h...) which results turtle position, which results damage to the cage or even the prop if you were careless and not turning it off before landing.

Safe flying to all, thank for this compilation.

Most of the difficulties they are having is due to poor training!!! one important factor is ALWAYS take-off and land INTO the wind, I have seen MANY mistakes done in ever one of these video clip's, again poor judgement due to poor training in many cases.

So many stupid people. To much wind is a very bad thing for these wings and they collapse. I am not an expert, but have over 200 hours flying a paramotor, and I have never crashed, had a wing collapse, or anything like these idiots. Worst thing that happened to me is a failed launch and basically fell over.

Always pre-flight your wing without the Paramotor strapped to your back, if the wind is constantly changes directions rapidly, if the wing jerks you upwards off the ground, or jerks you around in general.....do not attempt to fly.

The very first example is why you don't go paramotoring while on vacation, «as a fun thing to do for the day in Thailand». These resort type operations are as dangerous as it gets and not liable.
Some of these crashes are minor, routine errors. Sit backs, overshoots, wind dives and aborts with prop strikes are common, but avoidable with proper instruction and graduated competency.
